Team Building in Action – An Interactive Training

    Overview:

    Meeting the needs of the workplace – Manager’s effectiveness is measured largely by the achievements of the work team. In turn, the work team’s performance depends on how well the supervisor understands and puts into practice the skills of good team leadership.

    Every team is a collection of unique human beings, each with a contribution to make. Getting the most from the team means combining the talents of all members in a way that is best fitted to achieving the common task. This must be done while bearing in mind individual needs and ambitions.

    We look at the characteristics of work teams, their problems, strengths and weaknesses and what goes on in them. In this course the trainer will adapt the work to meet as closely as possible the needs of the participants of the courses. The result will be to provide them with the skills and knowledge that will make them valuable members of any team they may be part of.

    General Objectives:

    At the conclusion of this workshop participants will:

    • Have enhanced their understanding of team roles and how they can complement each other
    • Be able to explain the importance of bringing out the best in each team member
    • Have learned how to identify potential conflict among a team and how to deal with it
    • Gained overall understanding of dealing with unwilling team members and using the combined strengths of willing members of a team
    • Identify factors in effective team building
    • Will have participated in various interactive and group games that will prepare them to apply new skills they have learnt

     

    Delivery Strategy:

    Learning should be through a combination of teacher led instruction, power points, handouts, delegates input, audio-visual materials, group work, role plays and participation in group discussions, simulation games, and feedback questions. The goal is to lead the participants towards learning objectives. It will be interactive and fun to enable enhanced learning. As an additional enhancement, Rick Coles will provide some clips from motion pictures to highlight and illustrate the learning points we will be discussing
